A Help icon is located in the top right corner of each page. Click the icon to open the Help system to a topic about the current page. The Help window consists of a left pane and a right pane.
The left pane is used for navigating the online help. Tabs in the window enable you to alternate the navigation methods:
Contents |
Displays the online help Table of Contents tree. Click an item in the tree to view the topic in the right pane. View a sample? |
Index |
Displays an alphabetical index. Click an index entry to view the associated topic in the right pane. View a sample? |
Search |
Displays a full-text search entry field. Enter a text string and click Go to return topic names that contain the text string. Click a topic name to view the topic in the right pane. You can also search the Help system using the Search field in the upper right corner of the help window. View a sample? |
Glossary |
Displays a glossary of fixed-income topics and fields in the application. Click an entry in the Term list box to view its definition in the Definition field. View a sample? |
The right help pane displays the topic selected in the left pane. Three types of topics are used in the help system:
Overview |
A general description of the elements in an application page or overlay, with links to procedures that can be performed from the page. |
Procedure |
Step-by-step directions for completing an activity. |
Field |
Data entry notes about the fields in an application page. Field level help assumes users know what each field is, but may not know how to enter data to take advantage of the application's special features. Field definitions are available in the glossary. |
